Privacy Policy
Borderless is a live conversation translator for iOS and Android, made by JoCoding, Inc. ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your voice and your data when you use the app and this website. The short version: while a conversation runs, your voice is sent to be translated and is not recorded or stored by us. You don't create an account, and we never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
The app keeps a history of your conversations — what was said, its translation, and the place, if you allow location — only on your phone, and never sends it to Borderless. The place name comes from your phone's own place-lookup service (Apple or Google). Delete the history in the app, or by deleting the app.
1. Who is responsible

2. What we process, and why

We do not: record or store conversations, show ads in the app, sell or rent personal data, use your data to train AI models, or collect your contacts or photos. If you allow location, the app uses it once per conversation, on your phone, to name the place where the conversation happened; it is never sent to us.
Legal bases (where the GDPR applies): translating, billing and support are needed to provide the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b)); app analytics, ad measurement and security rest on our legitimate interest in running and improving Borderless (Art. 6(1)(f)); legal retention of purchase records is a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).

These transfers abroad happen over encrypted connections, as the app or website is used. Transfers out of the EEA and UK rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. If you don't want your data transferred, don't start a conversation or make a purchase — the app can't translate or sell time without these services.
4. Your choices and rights
- The microphone is only used while you have started a conversation. You can turn microphone access off in your phone's settings at any time.
- You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data, or to stop processing it, by writing to highball@jocoding.net with your Support ID (Settings ▸ Account in the app). We answer within 10 days (within 30 days where the GDPR applies). Deleting your Support ID also deletes any translation time left on it.
- You may complain to a data protection authority — in Korea, the Korea Internet & Security Agency's privacy center (privacy.kisa.or.kr, ☎ 118) or the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (kopico.go.kr); in the EU or UK, your local supervisory authority.
5. Children
Borderless is not directed at children under 14 (13 in the United States, 16 in parts of the EU), and we don't knowingly process their data without a guardian's consent. If you believe a child has used it, contact us and we'll delete the data.
6. Security
All traffic is encrypted (TLS). The keys to the translation service live only on our server, never in the app. Access to usage records is limited to the people who run Borderless. Records are deleted on schedule; deleted data cannot be recovered.
7. Changes
We'll post changes here with a new effective date, and announce significant ones in the app or on this site before they take effect.

조코딩(JoCoding, Inc., 이하 "회사")은 iOS·Android용 실시간 대화 통역 앱 Borderless(이하 "서비스")를 운영하며, 「개인정보 보호법」 등 관련 법령에 따라 이용자의 개인정보를 보호합니다. 요약하면, 대화가 진행되는 동안 음성은 통역을 위해 전송될 뿐, 회사가 녹음하거나 저장하지 않습니다. 회원가입이 없으며 이름·이메일·전화번호를 요구하지 않습니다.
앱은 대화 기록(말한 내용, 통역 결과, 위치를 허용한 경우 장소)을 이용자의 휴대폰에만 보관하며 회사로 전송하지 않습니다. 장소 이름은 휴대폰 자체의 장소 조회 서비스(Apple 또는 Google)가 알려 줍니다. 기록은 앱에서 삭제하거나 앱을 삭제하면 지워집니다.

회사는 대화를 녹음·저장하지 않으며, 앱 내 광고를 게재하지 않고, 개인정보를 판매·대여하거나 AI 학습에 사용하지 않으며, 연락처·사진을 수집하지 않습니다. 위치를 허용하면 앱은 대화마다 한 번, 휴대폰 안에서만 대화 장소의 이름을 정하는 데 사용하며 회사로 전송하지 않습니다. 회사는 이용자의 동의 없이 개인정보를 제3자에게 제공하지 않습니다(법령에 따른 경우 제외).
2. 개인정보 처리의 위탁 및 국외 이전
회사는 서비스 제공을 위해 다음과 같이 개인정보 처리를 위탁하며, 수탁자는 모두 국외에 있습니다. 이전은 서비스를 이용하는 시점에 암호화된 네트워크로 이루어집니다.

국외 이전을 원하지 않으시면 대화를 시작하거나 구매하지 않으시면 됩니다. 다만 이 경우 통역 및 시간 구매를 이용할 수 없습니다.
3. 개인정보의 파기
보유기간이 지난 개인정보는 지체 없이 자동으로 파기하며, 전자적 파일은 복구할 수 없는 방법으로 삭제합니다. 법령에 따라 보존해야 하는 정보는 해당 기간 동안 분리하여 보관합니다.
4. 이용자의 권리와 행사 방법
이용자는 언제든지 개인정보의 열람·정정·삭제·처리정지를 요구할 수 있습니다. 앱의 설정 ▸ 계정에 있는 지원 ID를 적어 highball@jocoding.net으로 요청하시면 10일 이내에 조치합니다. 지원 ID를 삭제하면 남은 통역 시간도 함께 삭제됩니다. 마이크 권한은 휴대폰 설정에서 언제든지 끌 수 있으며, 앱은 대화를 시작한 동안에만 마이크를 사용합니다.
5. 아동의 개인정보
서비스는 만 14세 미만 아동을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 법정대리인의 동의 없이 아동의 개인정보를 처리하지 않습니다. 아동이 이용한 사실을 알게 된 경우 연락 주시면 해당 정보를 삭제합니다.
6. 안전성 확보 조치
모든 통신은 암호화(TLS)되며, 통역 서비스의 인증키는 앱이 아닌 서버에만 보관합니다. 이용 기록에 대한 접근은 서비스 운영 인원으로 제한하며, 보유기간이 지나면 자동 파기합니다.
7. 자동 수집 장치
앱은 쿠키를 사용하지 않습니다. 웹사이트는 Google Analytics 쿠키를 사용할 수 있으며, 브라우저 설정에서 쿠키 저장을 거부할 수 있습니다.

9. 처리방침의 변경
이 방침을 변경하는 경우 시행일과 함께 이 페이지에 게시하며, 중요한 변경은 시행 7일 전(이용자에게 불리한 변경은 30일 전)에 앱 또는 웹사이트를 통해 알립니다.
